The history of Casi (Cooperativa Agraria y Ganadera San Isidro) was founded as such entity in 1944 by the farmers of the Huerta and Vega de Almería, with the priority objective of directly marketing their products in the Market of Food city.
The first years of CASI were focused on the daily sale of the vegetables of its associates in the Plaza stand but from its beginnings the sale of an enormous potato production, cultivated in the Vega Almeria during the winter, would be of special importance, taking advantage of A very benign climate that continues to be a comparative advantage with respect to other national and international agricultural enclaves.
